Hanging laundry
Created during a month-long artist residency at Studio Kura in Fukuoka, Japan. Surrounded by rice fields, mountains and the ocean with limited supplies to work with, it was the perfect place to slow down and focus on materiality and the surrounding nature.
The installation at the Studio Kura Gallery is a space reflecting the particular flow of time in Itoshima - of laundry drying in the backyard. And in this case, handmade paper.
